Nardique la Gravière

HISTORY

begins...

1920 Arsène Bastard, a farmer from the Charentes region, settled in the Entre-deux-Mers region at a place called Nardique, a winegrowing property where he continued his activity as a cattle breeder. White vines were planted on 5 hectares. He built a wine-making cellar which would allow him to produce wines sold in bulk to Bordeaux merchants.  

1938 | The wines of Château Nardique La Gravière won their first awards at numerous professional competitions, including the renowned Concours Général Agricole de Paris. The wines began to be sold in 75cl Bordeaux bottles.  alors à êtres vendus en bouteilles Bordelaises de 75cl. 

MODERNIZATION

and development

1948 | Edith, Arsène Bastard's daughter, married Gérard Therese, a winegrower from Marcillac, a village in the north of the Gironde. 

1955 | Acquisition of the first tractors on the family farm.

1960 | The vineyard now covers 20 hectares. The priority is the elaboration of quality wines and the sale of wine to individuals.

THE 3RD

generation

1975 – 1985 Christian and Philippe, the children of Edith and Gérard Therese, work on the family estate after their studies in oenology and viticulture. Thanks to their knowledge and know-how, the wines of Château Nardique La Gravière became a reference in the Entre-deux-Mers region and are now sold for export. 

A TERRIBLE

fire

August 1989 | A terrible fire destroys a farm building containing an important part of the wine storage in bottles. The rebuilt building is intended for the packaging of wines and direct sales.

A PASSION

transmitted family

2008 Murielle Therese wife of Philippe,  integrates the EARL des Vignobles Therese. She receives customers on the family estate and manages the increasingly computerized administrative part. 

2017 | Nicolas, son of Murielle and Philippe Therese, settled on the family estate after his studies in viticulture, oenology and marketing. He becomes the fourth generation. New in the packaging, he reinstates the work of the ground and puts forward with his parents a mode cultural respectful of the environment by integrating in 2020 the certification HVE. The vineyard is now 39ha of vines. 

The passion continues in the Therese family.

Philippe & Murielle Therese

Philippe | Meticulous and concerned with a job well done. He manages the estate and his team with daily determination to sublimate his terroir with two watchwords: quality and authenticity.

Murielle | Toujours le sourire aux lèvres, gère les commandes, organise les expéditions et la réception de la clientèle sur le domaine familial. Toujours à l’écoute, elle saura vous orienter et vous fera déguster les vins produits.

Nicolas Therese

Nicolas | He follows in his father's footsteps in the vineyard, the cellar and the office. He brings his modern vision, he manages social networks, professional tastings and is concerned with the preservation of his environment.  

Jean-Pierre R.

Jean-Pierre | A versatile winegrower who has been working on the estate for 30 years. He knows every detail of the vineyard. Highly efficient in the vineyards and in the cellar: a major asset on the family estate!
